According to Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the chief executive of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs, PAS was trying to capitalise on issues expected to be raised by Sirul.
“Anybody who is trying to oppose Barisan Nasional and Umno will always push for someone like Sirul to speak up.”
He pointed out that PAS was trying to capitalise on the issue.
He added that it was wrong for Sirul to run away from his sentence and that he should have taken responsibility for his actions.
“It is important to remember that there are many political issues related to the case and it’s not as straight forward as seen.”
