IDEAS took part in the analysis and publication of the 2011 Muslim Youths Survey, published by Friedrich Naumann Foundation and Goethe Institute. The survey asked 2,500 young (15-25 yrs.) Muslims in Malaysia and in Indonesia what they think about their country, their society and their family.
Some of the highlights include:
92% of young Muslims are happy with their lives
70% want the Quran to replace the Federal Constitution of Malaysia
66% have not registered as voters
91% do not approve of pre-marital sex
97% think that having a successful career is important
90% are not willing to marry someone from a different religion
29% are not interested at all in politics
51% strongly disagree on pre-marital sex
